The Chinese economy has been experiencing rapid growth since China embarked on the process of opening-up and reforms. Today, China has become the second largest economy in the world and its financial market changed significantly during the last 40 years. However, the recent China-US trade tensions cause great uncertainty for the strong economic growth in China due to their potential impact on financial markets, international trade and other key sectors. Hence, it is important to understand the challenges as well as opportunities of China’s economy and financial markets on the current state.

With this background, the School of Finance at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Adam Smith Business School at University of Glasgow will hold this international conference on China's economy and financial markets. Scholars from all over the world are invited to submit their research on the opportunities and challenges of China's economy and financial markets as well as their impact on the international financial markets to this conference. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special section of a regular issue of Economic Modelling. Both theoretical and empirical papers related to the theme of the conference are welcome. Topics considered include but not limited to the following:

· Corporate Finance

· Chinese Economy

· Development Economics

· Economic Modelling

· Financial Risk Management

· Fintech and Innovation
