The Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau (UM) and the Asia Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics (APJAE) (ISSN: 1608-1625 (Print) and
2164-2257 (Online)) are organizing the 8th Conference of the World Accounting Frontiers Series (WAFS) to be held at the UM Campus
on 9 - 11 December 2019. This interdisciplinary accounting conference aims to bring together academics and practitioners worldwide to
incubate and develop knowledge and ideas in the field of accounting. Papers are invited in the broad areas of financial accounting, management accounting, sustainability accounting, accounting education issues, regulatory and compliance issues, auditing, corporate governance, management information systems, and taxation.
Accepted papers are eligible for several best paper awards. Selected papers will be published in the special issue of APJAE subject to the condition that the paper meets the quality standards of APJAE. In addition to the English sessions where authors will have an opportunity for interactive presentation and discussion of their ideas and proposals, there will also be several Chinese sessions where scholars will present their latest works in Chinese.The theme of the WAFS 2019 is Accounting and Institutional Infrastructure and our mission is to bring together accounting scholars, educators, practitioners, and government officials worldwide for discussions and exchanges on a broader understanding of diversity as a being the right thing to do.
We encourage diverse researches with different analytical approaches:theoretical, empirical, experimental as well as behavioral. Topics cover from traditional to modern accounting issues. Conference participants may explore some way to go in the transition to becoming more diverse. The research could be Asia-centric or of global phenomenon. In addition to the theme of the Conference, papers in all areas of accounting are welcomed. Pertinent areas include, but are not limited to, the following:
