We are pleased to announce the 2018 International Symposium on Contemporary Labor Economics at the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), Xiamen University, China. The symposium is jointly organized by WISE, the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) of Jinan University, and the Department of Economics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.


The purpose of this Symposium is to facilitate the exchange of ideas between Chinese and international scholars on labor economics. We invite submissions from all areas related to labor economics, including but not limited to education and human capital, employment, income inequality, migration, and the labor market impact of trade, globalization, technology, and aging. Empirical research on or theoretical work with empirical applications to the Chinese labor market is particularly welcome.

PAPER SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION

Researchers interested in participating should submit their papers through our online portal at http://www.wise.xmu.edu.cn/meetings/LABOR2018. The submission deadline is October 15, 2018. Decisions of acceptance will be announced by October 22, 2018.


The registration fee is 100USD (or 600 RMB) for faculty/professionals and 50USD (or 300RMB) for students. The registration fee covers up conference materials, meals, and coffee/tea breaks for both days of the conference.
