The 4th CCGAR Research Camp on Auditing and Accounting

     This is a year full of challenges. Despite the global pandemic, the Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research (CCGAR) and Research Institute of Economics and Management (RIEM) at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) are pleased to announce that the 4th Research Camp on Auditing and Accounting will be held virtually on June 4th 2021. This event is sponsored by Golden Finance (Golden Education Co., Ltd) and Business School at Sichuan Agricultural University.


     The purpose of research camp is to bring together leading scholars, practitioners and Ph.D. students working on current issues in auditing and accounting. The camp will comprise keynote speeches and paper presentations. CCGAR and RIEM are committed to hosting the research camp on a yearly basis and developing it into a premier research conference in China. In the past few years, we are honoured to have invited Prof. Thomas Hemmer (Rice), Prof. Qi Chen (Duke), Prof. Chan Li (Kansas), and Prof. Clive Lennox (USC) to participate our camp as the keynote speaker. 


     For this year’s camp, we are very excited to announce Professor Roger Simnett from UNSW Australia and Professor Albert Tsangfrom Hong Kong Polytechnic University as our keynote speakers.

     Professor Roger Simnett is an Emeritus Professor of Accounting at UNSW Australia. Professor Simnett has played various leadership roles at the University and for the auditing profession. He has a background in standard setting, having served for the last 25 years on various standard setting bodies, including the the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Boardand the International Integrated Reporting Council working panel.Professor Simnett is a recognized leading international researcher whose research interests cover a range of international auditing/assurance issues aimed at improving audit/assurance quality and making policy recommendations. He is also the author of a leading auditing and assurance textbook, and has over 80 publications in the world’s leading journals, includingThe Accounting Review, Accounting, Organizations and Society,Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory and Contemporary Accounting Research.

     Professor Albert Tsang is a full professor of the School of Accounting and Finance at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Professor Tsang has a strong capital market orientated research interest on corporate social responsibility, financial and non-financial disclosure, news media, and international accounting. Professor Tsang has published numerous publications in refereed journals, including The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Journal of International Business Studies. Currently Professor Tsang is serving for the editorial board of Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of International Accounting Research, International Journal of Accounting and Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation.


     The organizers encourage submission of theoretical, archival and experimental studies on variety of issues in auditing and accounting. The deadline for submission is May 1st, 2021.Manuscripts (English only) should be submitted to Dr.Lin Liao atliaolin@swufe.edu.cn.
