The Brookings Institution and Jinan University are pleased to announce the start of an annual conference on applied microeconomics, which will be held at the Institute for Economic and Social Research at Jinan University.
The first conference will be held on Friday October 11 and Saturday October 12, 2019. We welcome short proposals of papers (2-5 pages; NO COMPLETE PAPERS PLEASE) on any topic in applied microeconomics, including but not limited to environmental, urban, public, labor, trade, industrial, and transportation economics. Preference will be given to proposed papers that will have important implications for public policy and to proposed papers that can be grouped together. So, it will be helpful to encourage others working in a similar research area to submit a proposal. Each paper will have a formal discussant.
Please submit proposals to Clifford Winston: CWinston@brookings.edu by no later than July 1, 2019. The conference will pay for the travel and accommodation costs of authors who are selected to present a paper.
